Neverwinter’s official launch is just days away.. and this morning, the Cryptic team gave us a glimpse at some new content coming with the launch on Thursday.
Today’s reveal, is another profession… Alchemy, that tried and true profession to make all the potions an adventurer could ever need, is coming to Neverwinter!
From the announcement, it looks like Alchemy will also get some dye ‘potions’, which will be nice and could generate a steady income for Alchemists. I’m looking forward to the potential negative side-effects of some of these:
Special Experimentation Potions -Â which could grant you special buffs or other, possibly deadly, effects! Be careful when experimenting with these untested ingredients, adventurers.
Major Unstable Potion – What effects will it have on your character? It could grant you powerful buffs such as Sunlord’s Gift Elixir (bonus recovery), Mending Wounds (to heal your wounds), rare recipes for more types of potions, or negative effects such as Unstable Transformation and more!
I think that it’s great that Cryptic has put in potentially negative (even though, presumably quite temporary) effects.. it’ll make you think twice about popping that Major Unstable potion mid-fight.. if it means you might turn your party’s healer into a chest, or spider, or something truly hideous like a Dwarf :P
Hopefully, I’ll be able to use the Gateway to get my Alchemy leveled up a bit while I’m at work Thursday!
