For Sarah

Back in May, the folks over at MWO let the community know that one of the youngest MWO fans had passed away as a result of cancer.  The MWO community came together, and asked for some way to commemorate Sarah.  In response, IPG and PGI have given us ‘Sarah’s Jenner’ (Sarah’s favorite ‘Mech to pilot).

This commemorative Jenner is available from the MWO site, and all proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society.  So, find the $10 that the Steam Summer Sale didn’t suck from your wallet, and put it towards a good cause:

(As of this writing, the MWO community has raised $20,300 via this tribute).

Sarah Parries

In May 2013, we were overwhelmed with support for Sarah Parries, one of our youngest MechWarriors who tragically lost her life to cancer in Vancouver, Canada. We would like to reiterate our deepest condolences for Sarah’s loved ones, who have expressed their sincerest appreciation for the incredible outpour of sympathy from the MechWarrior Online Community.

We are delighted to have been petitioned by our fans to take this as an opportunity to honor our fallen comrade and to raise donations for the Canadian Cancer Society through the sale of a unique version of Sarah’s favourite Mech.

Purchase this special Mech for $10 USD and we will donate the proceeds raised to cancer research in memory of Sarah and MechWarriors affected by cancer worldwide. Full details can be found here.

*100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society, net of applicable Sales Taxes and third-party transaction fees such as credit card and payment processing fees. These fees typically represent less than 4%. For clarity, IGP and PGI are not making any money off of the donated funds.

  1. 75% of “donations” to the “Canadian Cancer” society go toward paying the scammers’ salaries who run this “charity”. Google it for yourself and educate yourself before you rally around the scammers who feed these charlatans. Oh, BTW, just how much of this is actually going into the pockets of PGI / IGP / ECKMAN / INOUYE / and ZACK. Sickening.

  2. IGP and PGI are not making any money off of this. They are paying their payment processor the 4% (typically) of each transaction, and donating the rest of it to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I get it’s cool to hate on PGI (I do it myself at times), when they screw up, don’t communicate, etc..etc.. but, I don’t see the point in hating on them when they are doing a GOOD thing.

I have no control over which of the many Cancer related charities there are that the PGI team decided to go with.. that doesn’t make this any less of a good thing to support.
