Not really video game related..but, relevant since they’re my web host (and, they’re giving away free hosting time because it’s their birthday). Â From the 7th through the 21st the fine folks over at Dreamhost are celebrating their sweet 16! Â I’ve been with them since 2005 (at least, that’s what it says on my account page :P). Â I’ve never had any real issues with their availability (sure, there’s been a few outages..but, that’ll happen anywhere). Â I’ve had to work with their support people on a few occasions (I once had a phpBB install that wasn’t locked down as well as I thought it was) and they’ve been knowledgeable, and quick to resolve my issues. Â They’ve got great pricing, great staff… their monthly newsletter is downright hilarious. Â If that wasn’t enough.. They do regular donation matching to assorted charities, they assist in promoting (to other Dreamhost customers) sites they host via the ‘Dreamhost site of the month” contest… I think they even throw in some AdSense credit with hosting accounts now..
And yes, this post has been a blatant attempt to win one of the prizes Dreamhost is giving away – But.. it doesn’t change the fact that Dreamhost is a pretty damn good hosting company, and if you’re looking for someone to host a site..you should definitely host it with them.
