Today brought us this week’s question from the ‘MechWarrior Tactics Dev team:
Which events in the ‘MechWarrior Universe would you like to see in MWT lore? Focused around the 3025 era of course.”
My first little nitpick… ‘MechWarrior has no lore in 3025.. that point the ‘universe’ is all BattleTech, which MW was originally devised as the roleplaying outside of your ‘Mech’s cockpit rules “expansion”.. I understand why the Dev team phrased it that way, most people are familiar with BT via the MW games, not from the tabletop (especially now, it appears only us old farts remember playing the TT long before “The Crescent Hawk’s Inception”.
Events in this time frame included:
- 3025 brought us the end of the 3rd Succession War, a couple years of peace before the battle of Misery and the start of the 4th Succession War.
- Lots of small unit raids on border planets by all Houses (even though the 3rd Succession War was “done” there was always fighting on some scale).
- Operation DoppleGanger – An Attempt to replace Hanse Davion with a clone (Sword and Dagger novel by Ardath Mayhar)
- Grey Death Legion’s “adventures” from it’s inception on Trellwan, through Helm all took place in this general time frame.
- Wolf’s Dragoons switched employers from House Steiner to House Kurita, completing their circuit of the I.S houses, and setting the stage for their betrayal by Kurita and the Battle of Misery.
