Caustic Valley Revealed!

Hot on the heels of the Centurion reveal video, the MechWarrior Online team has given us a new map reveal!  Caustic Valley!  This place looks hot… literally…

As in the Centurion video, we see purple and yellow energy beam weapons again, still haven’t heard of this is ‘color blind’ mode, a new take on the ‘normal’ view, or just something glitches in the testing environment that PGI uses to make these videos.

CV looks like it’ll be a challenge to play on, both from a heat management perspective, and the fact that it looks like smaller ‘Mechs could hide in the structures, potentially ambushing someone as they move past.

The ending of the video also shows two ‘Mechs literally roasting a damaged Catapult.. with the added heat from CV..there’s no way that Catapult is making an escape.  This video also does a good job of showing how the ‘Mechs react to being damaged, you see plenty of one armed Centurions, an Atlas missing an arm, and listing to one side as it stands there destroyed.. perhaps due to an ammo explosion?

The dialogue mentions the ability to see for kilometers, which means long range weapons like Gauss Rifles could come in handy…

The Devs also gave us a surprise… the first ‘Mech’s cockpit we see in the video..is that of the Awesome! and at about 25 seconds in, you can see what looks to be an Awesome in the combat as well!
