This week’s Dev’s question deals with map size:

If you were going to choose your map size for a match would you go with Small maps for quick and dirty matches, Doubled maps for strategic encounters, or Massive maps for epic length shoot-outs?

I’m assuming that the map size we’ve seen in all the gameplay videos is MechWarrior Tactics’ equivalent of one tabletop map.  It looks like its too small to really bring tactics into play.. so I’d like to see map size at least doubled..

The bigger the map, the more important tactics become.. do I split up my lance and send each ‘Mech off on its own?  Break it into pairs?  Keep it together?

Smaller maps just become quick engagements, and just trying to maneuver into optimum weapon range..

So…does size matter?
