Yesterday the MechWarrior Online team gave us a teaser of the next Hero ‘Mech… this one is an Awesome (and, also, pretty Awesome).. call ‘Pretty Baby’.
Here’s the ‘Mech ‘card’:
Current speculation is that Pretty Baby will have an ERPPC, SRM4 (possibly two SSRM-2s), LRM15, Large Laser, and a Medium Laser). Â All for about 6,000 MC (based on pricing for previous Hero ‘Mechs (75 MC x Tonnage).
I really dig the paint job on Pretty Baby, and will probably be spending a bit of my Founder’s MCs on her..
Here’s the lore surrounding Pretty Baby:
Leftenant Danielle Peterson: As a member of the Chisholm’s Raiders, Peterson has a petite build and physical beauty that is atypical of MechWarriors and seemingly at odds with her Awesome’s appearance. She is highly regarded for her exceptional piloting ability, and the extraordinary agility and performance she displays in her BattleMech have been well documented. Seemingly uninhibited by the Awesome’s typical lack of maneuverability, Peterson’s incredible skills have made her and her Awesome (“Pretty Babyâ€) famous in all the Successor States. Several Solaris VII stables have offered her tremendous financial rewards were she to retire and join them, but so far she has publicly maintained that her allegiance to the Federated Suns, and she claims she does not intend to retire until they are done with her.
The Banner image used on the MWO site for Pretty Baby’s announcement… also gives us our first peek at what appears to be the “coming soon” Alpine map!
As you can see, it looks like the Pretty Baby (and this picture shows off her paint job much better), is standing in front of some sort of abandoned Factory/Fortress. Â There isn’t anything like that on the current maps, so this must be Alpine.
Pretty Baby should be in the patch on the 5th of February. Â Hopefully, we’ll get Alpine then too (or, shortly thereafter).
