Hot on the heels of the first official MWO Weekend Challenge (I ranked like 1100 or so overall last time), the PGI team is holding another tournament this weekend.
They’ve listened to the complaints from the Community who felt the last tournament rewarded games played (and thus, staying up all weekend) more then skill. Â So, this weekend’s tournament is broken into smaller chunks over Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
As with the previous tournament, you must go to the Tournament page, and opt in. Â Solo play only, group drops don’t count toward the competition.
This tournament is awarding more then bragging rights.. a total of 15,875,000 C-Bills in prizes will be awarded! Â Want your shot? Â Here’s the rules:
Opt-In
- Players must Opt-In in order to participate and be eligible for prizes.
- By Opting In, players agree to the challenge rules.
- Players who Opt-In will automatically have their solo (non-grouped) scores added to the Overall, Stage, and Segment Leaderboards.
Overall, Stages, Segments
- Each Stage consists of 3 Segments. Each Segment will last for 1 hour and focus on a different leaderboard challenges:
- Segment 1 = Most Kills.
- Segment 2 = Most Assists.
- Segment 3 = Most combined Kills and Assists.
- Each Segment will have a 30 minute break in between.
Scoring
- Segment Winners – Top three players with the most accumulated Kills.
- Stage Winners – Top player with the most accumulate Kills and Assists across all 3 Stage Segments.
- Overall Winner – Top player with the most accumulated Kills and Assists across all 9 Segments.
Tie Breakers
- Aggregate Overall Score – WLRatio * 20% + Kills * 15% + KillAssists * 25% + (CaptureAssist + SpottingAssist) * 30% + MatchesPlayed * 10%
IMPORTANT NOTE:Â For this particular event, only solo player scores will count towards the leaderboards. Players who are within a group of 2 or more played during the stages will not have their scores counted towards the leaderboard.
Seems simple enough… right? Â I’m sure some folks will complain about the games played being taken into account for the tie breaker..but it’s only a 10% weighting, so it’s minimal.
Here’s the schedule:
For those of us in the US (and, I guess the rest of North America).. Daylight Savings Time starts Sunday! (BOO! HISS!)
